Nige's Surgery - Update #11

This afternoon we ventured out for a walk. We headed down Karangahape Road (K Road) towards Starbucks. I wasn't sure how Nige would do but we just took our time and made it there eventually. What would have been a less than ten minute walk took probably 20 minutes or so.
Once there we enjoyed a coffee and some reading time. We both enjoyed the change of scenery - Nige especially!

I finished my book (above) while there and so started playing with the camera.

Nige is doing pretty well. He has a bit of a sore back from mainly lying on his back each night and during the day but is hesitant to change lying positions. He says it feels like he has a steel rod across his stomach. The cut continues to look good and seems to be healing well also.

When we left the hospital Wednesday afternoon they told us that they would be keeping Nige's bed available for him through till Monday should he need to go back. So far it seems he won't be needing to do that but it sure is nice to know that the medical care is still available for him if he needs it.

Yesterday we had a friend from Howick Baptist come visit us here. He had asked if Nige wanted anything and Nige had asked for his favourite dessert - vanilla ice cream! Barrie was kind enough to bring some for him. He stayed a short while and read some verses from Psalms with us and prayed for us. We continue to be thankful to the Lord for the blessings He is showering upon us during this time.
