Nige's Surgery - Update #8

Today has been another good day for Nige. He slept better through the night. He is still having hallucinations though, and often wakes with quite a fright from the intense dreams.

Nige's only tube left in is the one draining excess fluid from the 30cm cut. They have tested the fluids and are very happy with the results which have confirmed that the surgery area on the pancreas is sealed. This is great news!

The doctor said today that Nige's progress is really good considering the surgery he's just had but that he's not rushing him out of the hospital quite yet.

Last Friday Nige's surgeon said he thought Nige would be in hospital until maybe Friday, 23 April and then he would stay a couple more nights in Auckland where I'm staying just to make sure he's okay before flying us back to Hawke's Bay.

This morning a friend who lives here in Auckland picked me up at the hospital and we enjoyed a few hours together in town. Yesterday another friend took me to the supermarket so I could get some food for my evening meals for the next few days.

God has worked out all the details for our time here - the big details, like Nige even being able to have this surgery and have it free of charge through the public health system, my accommodation and transport also covered by the public health system, friends from Riverbend visiting us every day since we've been here, right down to hankies for my tears (although the tears have stopped now). :)

And my God will supply all your needs
according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
