A Day Off

Today Nige took a day off.  Since he's arrived home from overseas 13 days ago he's preached twice at Riverbend (and he has two more Sundays in this four-part series; to listen click here), had TSBC grading to do for end of term papers, lots of people interactions and the list goes on.  So, today we enjoyed the alarms going off a little later and then we drove over to Napier for brunch.  A friend from church happened to walk by right when I was taking a photo of our food and offered to take our picture.  Perfect timing!
When we go out for breakfast in New Zealand we both usually order the same thing every time (SO unadventurous I know!).  Nige had French Toast with bacon, banana and maple syrup, and I had Eggs Benedict with Bacon.  This EB also had tomato hidden under the eggs which was different, but nice.
After we had eaten we walked over to the Napier Sound Shell and then down along the boardwalk for a bit.  It was a beautiful sunny day and the sun highlighted the gorgeous colours of these flower gardens!
Nige took this one - he thought it would make a great desktop background.
An up close shot.
We had a lovely day together, enjoying the sunshine and outdoors and just being together.
