We had the privilege of having an old friend come stay for a week from Japan. His name is Daisuke Okada (pronounced Dice-K) and we first met him at The Master's College in 1992. He and Nige were in Greek class together. When we went back to the US in 1997 for Nige to attend The Master's Seminary the two guys were in classes together again. Daisuke and his wife Marcia (and four children) are now ministering in Osaka, Japan at Hamadera Bible Institute (a school similar to TSBC) and they are the family we stayed with in 2008 when we visited Japan.
The day after Daisuke arrived we headed over to Napier . . . more specifically, Starbucks, where the three of us sat with our laptops doing work. I wish I'd gotten someone to take our photo! LOL :)
Some scenes of Napier, along Marine Parade.
Unfortunately the only photo of the three of us was when I was in my PJ's - funny!
Nige took Daisuke and Soon Yong (visiting from Singapore) down to Wellington for the day. They visited Te Papa, did a tour of The Beehive and Parliament buildings and even got to sit in on Parliament in session.
They took a ride up the cable car too, and it looks like they had good weather.
