The morning Nige was leaving for Los Angeles we woke to the sound of a hot air balloon above our house. By the time I got dressed suitably to go outside, the balloon had already lifted a bit. It was so low we thought it was going to land on the big field to the left of this photo but it kept going higher and so the people got a longer ride. Just seeing one hot air balloon is pretty neat - I can imagine how cool it would be to go to a hot air balloon show like they have in the US!!
Nige boarding the plane in Napier, for the one hour flight to Auckland before flying on to Los Angeles later in the day.
Nige took this photo (while driving!) heading North on the I-5 out to Newhall. He couldn't believe there was snow out there!
Nige was staying at Mark and Lisa Tatlock's home on this trip, and this is their back yard with snow on it!
And right across the street from the Tatlock's is The Master's College, with snow on their grounds too. Amazing to see snow in this part of Los Angeles!!!
