bits and pieces

The roses in our front garden have bloomed like crazy this year.  It must have been all the rain we had this winter (which took us out of the drought too - a huge praise!).
The pink rose above is probably my favorite color, but this red and yellow one wins for favorite name - ketchup and mustard!
I have the privilege of serving on the music team at church still.  We have an awesome music pastor and a great team of musicians and singers to serve alongside of.  It's a great group of humble people who love to make music and sing praises to God.
I snapped this picture Easter Sunday, during our second service.
And Faith Bible Church has it's very own ice cream truck!  How cool is that!  Easter Sunday was the big reveal, and free ice creams were given out to those who wanted one.  The plan is to reach out to the community with free ice creams, and get to know people to tell them about Christ.
About once every couple of months I go down to the recycling place, and take our empty water bottles, Bundaberg bottles and any other plastic or glass bottles that qualify, and they give me money!  I think I filled three of these blue barrels and got about $12 on my last visit.  It's pretty stinky down there, but it's worth it even for an extra $12.
We're very fortunate to be able to buy some NZ/Australian goodies here in Southern California.  We can buy various flavors of Bundaberg, NZ licorice (we think it's RJ's), NZ lamb (roast, steak and chops), and a more recent discovery is Kumera (called Asian Sweet Potato here).  We are very spoiled!
On a recent day off, we played mini golf together.
