He is now only on one lot of morphine, 12 hourly like before the surgery, and hasn't needed the additional pain relief today, which is great! He isn't sleeping so well at night. He wakes 2-3 times and has been getting up and sitting on the couch, just to change his position as lying on his back the whole night has become uncomfortable. But all in all, today has shown more improvements.
Monday morning we will meet with Nige's surgeon for one last check-up and we hope to be on a plane Monday afternoon heading for the Hawke's Bay. We both are looking forward to being home - our own bed, being back with family and friends, and Lord willing to greater recovery for Nige.
This is the view from our 18th floor room.
And this photo was taken last night as the sun was setting. Beautiful isn't it! One thing I really missed when we lived in Los Angeles were the clouds in New Zealand - not so much the ones that bring rain but the pretty, fluffy ones that make our skies look so beautiful. Thank you Lord for the beauty of Your creation which surrounds each of us!
