Nige's Surgery - Update #2

Nige was wheeled up to surgery about 9:00 am this morning. They checked him in and then gave him some sleepy liquid in the arm and before you know it he's ready to shut his eyes and go nye-nye. Mind you, he can fall asleep driving from our house into Hastings which is only a six minute drive!! Then he was wheeled off into another area and I waved goodbye for the day.

At 3:00 pm I received a call from his surgeon, Adam, saying that the surgery was finished and they were just waking him up. Adam said the surgery went very well. His said the scar tissue in and around (I think) his pancreas was like a cocoon. I guess this hadn't shown up on any x-rays etc and so was a surprise finding.

Adam suggested I wait until 5:00 pm before going back to the hospital to see Nige, giving him time to wake up and recover a bit. So in an hour I'll head over and track down which ward he will be in. I'm a bit nervous as to how Nige will be, so soon after the surgery, and how I will respond. Here's where those hankies come in handy! :)

Thank you for praying today, and for the txts and Facebook comments that have come through. They all mean so much!

"For I am the LORD your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'"
Isaiah 41:13
