It's been neat watching this California Quail couple out in our back yard the last few months. Mama Quail got QUITE round during her pregnancy, and then all of a sudden there were about ten baby chicks in our back yard with Mama and Papa watching - one up on the fence, and the other beside the chicks on the ground. Sadly the chicks are no longer coming around, most likely due to predators catching them. It was fun watching from the window while it lasted!
