guy fawkes

On 5 November each year New Zealand celebrates Guy Fawkes with fireworks and often with a bonfire with a 'guy' burning in the middle of the bonfire. Click HERE to read what Wikipedia says about Guy Fawkes.  Anyway, this year it coincided with Phil and Natalie's youngest, Daniel, receiving a certificate in school assembly for "Settling Well to Classroom Work and Routines".  When the older two received this certificate the family celebrated at McDonald's for dinner, and so the family did this for Daniel too, and Nige and I were invited to join with them.
After dinner we went to the park opposite where the Hendersons used to live and took an updated photo of us all on the seesaw.
Nige kept trying to tickle me in between pushes on the swing.  Doesn't he know that's dangerous?  lol  :)
Then we went back to the Henderson's and Daniel had a game of chess with Uncle Nige.  He's got the game down pretty good for a five year old!  Uncle Nige was impressed!!

Then Nat pulled out the sparklers - always a favourite!
In the box were a couple of these little fizzlers.  And that was our Guy Fawkes for 2011 - a fun evening with the Hendos!
