We headed down to Palmy on Waitangi Weekend for the Superstock Teams Champs held Saturday and Sunday nights. The guy sitting on roof of the second car is Scott Miers, Captain of the Palmerston North Panthers. I was at the same high school as Scott, and seeing that I'm still a Palmy girl at heart that's the team I root for. And they won again - two years running!
This is one of the Superstock Consolation races. The red car was Wayne Hemi, racing a brand new car and he came in as the fastest driver in two of the three consolation races. It was pretty impressive seeing him start at the back and then come to win the race!
For a bit of entertainment this monster truck was at the speedway and it drove over the BMW car. Amazingly, the BMW was still able to be driven - the clown drove it off the track back to the pits.
