2012 impact bible conference

Impact Bible Conference has rolled around again (where did the last year go?!).  Here I am at my desk in the church office putting together some of the final details - like deciding who should go with who in the bunkrooms, calling up Riverbend folk to see if they can still host someone coming from out of town for the weekend, putting signs on accommodation doors and many other little details.  Fun!
The night before the conference begins a dinner is held at Russell and Liz Hohneck's for the church elders and the conference speakers - a time to meet for the first time and/or renew old friendships.
Adam Tyson came from Montgomery, Texas to speak to the youth at the conference about dating, singleness and preparing for marriage.  We had the privilege of having Adam stay with us in our home.  In August we will be visiting the church where he serves as youth pastor (Lakeside Bible Church) and we are looking forward to that!
The conference has begun!
I had the privilege to sing at the Friday night session with this RBC ensemble . . .
and also Sunday morning and night when the RBC choir combined with conference attendees.  The local choir members thoroughly enjoyed having their numbers tripled, or maybe the numbers were even quadrupled!  What a difference 30+ more voices can make!
Nige and Phil doing announcements during the conference.  They're a good team up there (and behind the scenes, pulling the conference together).
Praise God for another awesome weekend of teaching from God's Word - this year's theme of "Building Godly Relationships" was very practical, as all of us interact with others.  Now to put into practice all that we learned over the weekend.
And if you didn't make it to this year's conference, you can listen to the messages online at www.riverbend.org.nz/impact
