phil's last day

Phil spent the morning sorting out his suitcases and then we headed off for some LA sightseeing.  First stop, Universal's City Walk.  New Zealand is now on this globe at the gates of Universal Studios so Nige took the photo with NZ in the background.
The entrance to Universal Studios.
Lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, City Walk.
The 101 Freeway as we left City Walk.
Next stop . . . Hollywood and Highland.  We took the subway from Universal City, which makes it a much more pleasant trip than fighting with the freeway and then finding parking.
We stood on the middle walkway in this structure to the take the previous photo of the Hollywood sign.
Behind these building the downtown Los Angeles buildings can just be seen.
After we checked Phil's bag in at the Air New Zealand terminal we still had plenty of time before his flight departed, so we headed off to In N Out burger just down the road for one last American burger for Phil (the best burger, I say!).
Love the view of the city.  We could see the downtown buildings from the apartment we lived in for five years, so it's a view I came to enjoy . . . especially on the days I could actually see it because there was no smog!  haha :)  Speaking of smog . . . there hasn't really been too much of it since we've been here.
