a couple days in boston, ma

We had two nights in Boston and while in town chose to do the Old Town Trolley Tours which is hop-on, hop-off type tour of the city.  Our tickets came with a free second day of using the trolleys and a 45 minute harbour cruise.  The first place we chose to get off was at Fenway Park.  Tours can be done of the baseball park.  We didn't do a tour of the park but visited the gift store and bought ourselves a cap each.  I now have a cap like 'Boston Rob'!
The famous Red Sox baseball player, Ted Williams.
The food stalls at Fenway Park had a neat 'old time' look about them.
On the harbour cruise.
Looking back at Boston city.

Hubway - Boston's new bike sharing system.  They have 61 stations around the city, with a total of 600 bikes.  Pretty cool idea . . . plus the bikes looked pretty cool all lined up.
Next stop . . . Quincy Market - some historic buildings, gift and souvenir stores and all sorts of food to eat!
We shared ribs for lunch - it was great to have some roast spuds and fresh corn.
Bonus!  There was a Yankee Candle store there too!
Another bonus - a Christmas store, full of all sorts of Christmas ornaments!  They had eight rooms of different themed ornaments.
How fun!
These ice creams looked neat, all scooped out already!
This was the dining area in the middle of the food building.  We discovered it was much cooler to eat downstairs rather than upstairs!.
I think we stayed on the 18th floor at the Sheraton Boston and we looked down on the Christian Science Church property and buildings.  That's Nige in the top left corner.
The reflection pool
The water fountain . . . where kids came and cooled off by running through it.  It looked fun!
After dinner one night we came and sat here for a while - it was lovely.  Oh, and that tall domed building in the background is the "mother church".  They do free tours so we went and took a peek inside.
