the buildings of boston

Faneuil Hall - the back, at Quincy Market
 Faneuil Hall - the front
 Old State House
This old building opened on 20 February 1888, with the Police Station on the left and on the right Engine Company 33 and Ladder Company 15.  The police station closed in 1976 but the fire station remains open. Back when the building was built the fire trucks were pulled by horses and today the fire trucks are a lot bigger, so they had to be altered so that their ladders are recessed into the trucks so they can fit through the arched doorways.  It was a neat building!
Neat old buildings we passed on our Trolley Bus Tour.

Massachusetts State House.
Twelve Post Office Square.

There were lots of Starbucks in Boston too.  Lots of them were in some of the old buildings of the city.  This one had a cool gold old-style teapot above the door.
I loved all the old buildings this side of the country!
