grimaldi's pizzeria

Our food-loving friends, Richard and Judy, from Los Angeles told us we should go to Grimaldi's Pizzeria under the Brooklyn Bridge so once we crossed the bridge we started looking for it.  Nige ended up calling Richard to check on directions and then we stumbled across it . . .
and the long line of people waiting for the restaurant to open!  So we joined the line too, and got talking with  the guy in front of us who was a born and bred Brooklyn resident and he told us how famous Grimaldi's is and how great the pizza is.  We figured it was worth waiting for!
The restaurant really is under the Brooklyn Bridge.
The kitchen was small, open and in full view of the restaurant patrons.
They had the tables right next to each other in the middle section where we were seated so that they could pack in as many patrons as possible.  We were sitting next to a Japanese girl who was there on her own, and she ate all by herself the same sized pizza as us!
We had ham, red peppers and fresh mozzarella on our pizza.  The medium sized pizza was HUGE!!
And we had ice cold cream sodas.  Mmm  . . .
Yum!
The Brooklyn Bridge with the Manhattan Bridge in the background.  Very cool!
