toasting marshmallows

The Hendersons invited us to join them down at the beach for a little bonfire and marshmallow toasting.
We all hunted around for firewood and long sticks for toasting the marshmallows
I think Daniel found the best long stick - it had three prongs on it, so he was toasting three marshmallows at a time!  Pretty smart for a five year old!!

Somewhere out to the left of this picture is where the container ship, Rena, is stranded on rocks.  The ship was just a speck on the horizon from where we were.  There was hardly any evidence of oil or debris from the ship at Papamoa either, so people were swimming like usual.
Trying to capture the hot embers on the end of Nige's stick making a pretty pattern, but my camera wasn't capturing what Natalie's was.  Still, I thought the lights in the background looked pretty cool.  See Daniel buried in the sand to Nige's right?  Jessie buried his legs, made a fin, and placed shells on the mound to make it look like a shark.
