off in a jet plane

Today Nige and I are flying to the US.  We'll be gone 28 days and have the privilege of attending Josh Powell and Michelle Ward's wedding in Gardnerville, NV in the weekend.

While in Gardnerville we will be hosted by John and Daisy Cox, friends from our time living in Los Angeles.  I haven't seen Daisy for seven years so am very much looking forward to seeing her again and catching up with her, and meeting their two little girls.  Nige will be preaching at the church John pastors, Havest Bible Chapel - Carson Tahoe on the Sunday.

After four nights in NV we drive a couple hours West from Gardnerville and spend a night with some long-time friends, and now our friends too, of Mum and Pete's, Don and Irene.  The Kapicka family hosted Mum and Pete in their home in Sylmar, CA back in 1988 when Mum and Pete came over the Shepherds' Conference.

Then we fly back to LA and spend most of the rest of our time there.  Our calendar is booked with many evenings catching up with American friends and networking with church leaders.  We will also be able to spend some time with our Kiwi friends who are now living in LA attending The Master's Seminary, which will be great too.

Our second to last weekend, we will be driving to San Luis Obispo to visit Berean Bible Church where Nige will be preaching.  Josh and Michelle will have arrived in LA by then and will be joining us for the weekend.

The last week is filled with two conferences - TMAI Symposium and Shepherds' Conference.  During this last week Nige will be interacting with many pastors, book publishers, and fellow TMS alumni at these conferences, and the Lord has used these times in the past as the means for finding speakers for Impact Bible Conference back here at Riverbend.

Our last Sunday we will visit Calvary Bible Church in Burbank, and in the evening we plan to be at Placerita Baptist Church in Newhall.

As you know, we always enjoy going back to the US for these visits and count it a privilege when the Lord provides the means to do so.

I hope to update the blog as we go . . . so come back again to see some pictures :)

To our Kiwi friends, see you next month.  To our LA friends, hope to see you soon!  :)
