georgetown, texas

Next stop was Georgetown, where long-time friends Larry and Jennifer Loden are ministering at Grace Community Fellowship.  Nige preached at this church also, and we enjoyed our time worshiping with the saints here, and fellowshipping over lunch together afterwards.

The Lodens took us to the State Capitol Building in Austin, TX.  It was their first time to the Capitol Building too!

The gates around the Capitol Building were neat.  Everywhere in Texas there are these stars - it was a Texas thing, and I liked it.
A squirrel resting on the grass, and maybe getting some coolness from the ground.

Authentic Texas food for lunch!  We also tried Hush Puppies (yum) and Fried Okra (felt funny!).
Then we went and got ice cream - this one had chocolate covered bacon as a topping!  It actually tasted alright.
The ice cream truck was parked in a gated lot, along with other food trucks, and people just come by during the week.  Apparently these trucks do go to events as well but it seemed they're parked up in the lot most of the time.  It was a fun thing to do - although it was SO hot out that day that we couldn't wait to get back in our air conditioned vehicle!!
