happy new year

On New Year's Day, we drove South towards San Diego to check out La Jolla Cove (pronounced 'la hoy-ya).  Several people at FBC had told us it was a really nice beach and area, and they were right!  It's beautiful.

There were lots of others visiting La Jolla too!

There are lots of quaint shops to look in but most were closed since it was New Year's Day.

We stumbled across this gelato place, which also looked to have great, Kiwi-style coffee, but they didn't have any decaf for me, so we both tried the gelato instead, which was delicious.
We enjoyed the day together, driving, talking, walking, people-watching, and have to pinch ourselves sometimes, to think that we can just jump in the car and be in San Diego(!) in an hour.
