a glimpse of san antonio

The River Walk is a network of walkways along the banks of the San Antonio River, one story beneath the streets of Downtown San Antonio, Texas. It is lined by bars, shops and restaurants, and is a neat place to visit both day and night.  They have a 35 minute river boat cruise which did both nights we were there, and because we had different guides both times we heard more history and stories about the River Walk etc.  The first guide was a funny guy, joking around and the second guide was the more serious kind but both were interesting.
One of the many bridges - and so pretty too.
We had a look around The Alamo
and saw some of the other Missions in San Antonio when we did our hop-on, hop-off bus tour.
 Another Mission.
Looking out the front of our bus toward the hotel where we stayed (the red brick building).
We had lunch at Boudro's Texas Bistro
This shot is looking back at where we sat for lunch, under the orange umbrellas.  There were fish in the water and ducks hanging around wanting some crumbs from us.  It was a lovely setting.
